This is a small, but beautiful, crescent-shaped beach. It has palm trees and plenty of salt-and-pepper colored sand. There are also some crystal-clear tide pools, which are teeming with sea life. It's dog friendly, so be prepared for that! All the canines were very well behaved during my visit. It was hilarious to see two huskies frolicking in a tropical paradise! The only drawback is that there is no path leading to the beach. To get there, you have to climb over a hellified pile of lava boulders. Other than that, I highly recommend! **Update** Today I noticed brightly colored signs on the beach that were marking out a safety perimeter for an endangered Hawaiian Monk Seal!
Decent beach. Walk in is not easy for people unsteady on their feet. Decent swimming area and not crowded.
We saw beautiful sting rays and a variety of fish, but BEWARE OF SEA URCHINS EVERYWHERE! I stepped on one and it does not feel good. Great for snorkeling otherwise.
The beach was absolutely stunning with a beautiful sunset, plenty of crabs, and a wonderful atmosphere.
This was a beautiful, quiet beach with amazingly blue, clear water. It was not very good for swimming as it is very rocky trying to walk out and you have to have water shoes (we forgot to bring ours) There is a beautiful rocky shoreline that you can easily climb up to the top and take amazing pictures. You can’t sunbathe in that area because it is sacred ground, but you can climb down the rocks easily on the side to get into deeper water where there is soft sand under your feet. There is a TeePee shaped structure for shade and lots of tree shaded area as well. It was very quiet and relaxing and my hosband and I really enjoyed our day here. The parking is a bit of a walk down a path to get to but we didn’t mind that and parking was free.
