About Big Beach
Big Beach (Oneloa Beach) is known for its powerful shore break and consistent waves that make it popular with bodyboarders and experienced swimmers, though conditions can be treacherous for weak swimmers. The 1.5-mile crescent of golden sand is backed by native vegetation and offers stunning views of Molokini Crater and Kahoolawe Island, with a noticeably quieter and more local feel compared to other South Maui beaches. Strong currents and rip tides are common here, making it essential to check conditions and stay aware of the ocean's force rather than a leisurely swimming destination.

Use street parking for free. Park itself is 10$ per vehicle plus 5$ pp. Fantastic view of the wide ocean with Molokini and Kahoβolawe in the landscape. Fine sand. Waves are strong and curl quick smashing you in the ground. One of the most Beautiful beach.
Plenty of space to spread out, but..... - The waves are abusive and the danger signs should be minded. This was by far, the roughest beach visit, every visit. - The wind is like sitting in a human sand blasting machine. Stay closer to the hedge line if you can, you be prepared to hunker down. - Not much in the way of snorkling, just open space and a very unique scenery to enjoy.
As a travel photographer, I had the honor of capturing a maternity session here, and the sunset was unforgettable. This beach is absolutely stunning!
Cost 5$ per person and 10$ per car to get in. Beautiful beach! Strong current, be careful when getting into the water.
Absolutely spectacular Beach to walk on it enjoy laying by the ocean. The Ocean shore break is very strong. The current is also very strong here. Only very strong swimmers should be swimming here. Not crowded, absolutely stunning views. A beach you will always come back to.
