About Cape Cod National Seashore
Cape Cod National Seashore stretches across 43,000 acres of pristine Atlantic coastline, featuring dramatically sculpted cliffs of glacial sand that rise 120 feet above wide, sandy beaches backed by pitch pine forests and freshwater ponds. The cool, clear waters and strong surf make it ideal for swimming and surfing, while the relatively undeveloped landscape and network of hiking trails attract visitors seeking a quieter, more natural beach experience compared to crowded summer towns. The area's shifting geography, shaped by constant erosion and sand migration, creates an ever-changing landscape that feels raw and wild rather than manicured.
Visitor Reviews
Cape Cod national seashore was beautiful.... no shells but tons of beautiful colorful pebbles and stones.
One of the best sand dune national seashores I have ever visited. Beautiful dunes. Beautiful ocean views, sand, and various rocks. The dunes are perfect practically remain untouched by man. If you are considering visiting, definitely recommend.
I love here. It has everything to offer. Great beaches. Great food. Great family times
The Cape Cod National Seashore, which spans the entire eastern shore of Cape Cod, is simply the best place in all New England to enjoy a long hike on the beach. Actually, few other countries can boast a similar setting, with more than 20 miles of uninterrupted beach. The Nauset Marsh Trail bridge, howeber. was destroyed in a 2012 storm. The trail is still open during replacement work but check at the Salt Pond visitor Center for current conditions before heading out.
Very good beach on the Atlantic Ocean with plenty of waves
