About Castor Beach
Coquina Beach, located on Anna Maria Island just north of Tampa, features a pristine stretch of white sand backed by natural dunes and sea oats, offering a quieter alternative to more crowded Gulf Coast destinations. The calm, shallow waters and gentle waves make it ideal for swimming and wading, while the uncrowded shoreline attracts families and those seeking a peaceful beach experience away from commercial development. Visitors consistently praise its natural beauty, clean conditions, and the excellent shelling opportunities that reward early morning walks along the tide line.
Visitor Reviews
To all the one-star reviewers who are geographically challenged and expected a beach an hour inland from the actual coast: be grateful the college charges what it does for tuitionβso we can enjoy a peaceful spot to nap in a hammock under the palm trees π
It's a small place on Tampa University Campus. I would not say its a beach. Though peaceful area I think at certain times of the day. Good ace for students to go on campus for some quiet time.
Not where I wanted to go. Was looking for a real beach. Every college campus should have one.
Itβs not a real beach and you canβt swing in that lake. Good for relax
An absolute must see! Add it to the list of things to do when visiting Tampa. Such a beautiful place. Lovely sand with chairs for anyone to use. Never crowded. A true hidden gem.
