About Cedar Beach
Cedar Beach is a wide, sandy barrier island beach known for its calm, sheltered waters ideal for swimming and family outings, with stronger currents on the ocean side that attract experienced swimmers and surfers during winter swells. The beach offers a quieter alternative to nearby Fire Island, with a more local feel, accessible parking, and views of Great South Bay's salt marshes and spartina grasses that give it a distinctly protected bay-beach character. Activities range from fishing off the shore to kayaking in the bay, making it popular with both water sports enthusiasts and those seeking a low-key beach day on Long Island's South Shore.

Great beach with a huge restaurant with cocktails Iโll recommend this place the parking is a little far of the beach and the parking spot is $40 dollar so I think is expensive but I understand this is Long Island
Bird watching, multiple volleyball courts, Salt Shack grill with DJ music and spectacular sunsets are waiting for you
Visiting this beach was an excellent experience, soft sand and warm beach. There were a lot of lifeguard around beaches, voleibol fields and enough space to everyone. Parking is $40
We went there in the Summer. Very nice beach. Near by food is available too. My kid enjoyed the beach a lot as it was not crowded. We went there on weekdays so probably less crowded. A good place to have a relax day at the beach.
Nice beach, they have an eatery where food and drinks are served. There is an area to wash the salt water and sand off your feet. Please note the beach is NOT near the parking lot ...There is a walk to please watch how much you bring to the beach!!!
