About East Beach
East Beach stretches along Galveston's quieter eastern shoreline with calm, protected waters ideal for swimming and wading, making it popular with families and those seeking gentler surf than the Gulf's open waters. The beach features a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere with fewer crowds than the central tourist areas, backed by natural dunes and offering straightforward beach activities like picnicking, shelling, and fishing from the nearby jetty. Its appeal lies in accessibility combined with a more authentic, less commercialized beach experience compared to Galveston's busier zones.

Had a great time here for Sandcastle Festival!
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!!! The beach was cleaned, maybe too clean because there were no sea shells bigger than my pinky nail we could bring home, but it was fun for a few hours. Nice white sand walking to the water then the Gulf hits it.
Love the beach. Itβs our go to place. We rent umbrella with 2 chairs. Parking is $15. I donβt like the changing area. Doors arenβt locking. Floors are flooded and green. But beach was great.
Beach was clean. Water was clean as well with calm waves. Nothing compared to Egyptian beaches tho(dahab, gouna, north coast, sharm el sheikh). The water isnβt blue even though itβs clean and everything. I think itβs because of the dark sand. Also I wished there were any showers or toilets. Itβs a public beach with free parking
Nice beach area, but it's all the same as the other beaches that don't charge for parking. Yes, there's a restaurant and volleyball and other things, but 15 bucks for parking is silly. There's so many better locations, many with food.
