About Elmar Beach
Elmar Beach is a sheltered cove with notably calm waters ideal for swimming and paddling, protected by rocky outcrops that buffer the heavy Pacific swells that pummel nearby beaches. The sandy pocket beach offers dramatic views of jagged coastal cliffs and sea stacks, with tide pools and kelp forests attracting marine explorers and photographers. It's a quieter, more local-feeling alternative to Half Moon Bay's busier beaches, drawing families and nature-focused visitors rather than surfers.
Visitor Reviews
Very interesting beach access point with some water way coming from the inland that attracts a lot of bird flocks. Many happy children and chill adults around: some with sun shielding tents and some soaking up the sun.
Well worth the trek. Clean, white sand. Perfect for wading and sun worship.
