About Escondido Beach
Escondido Beach is a secluded cove tucked beneath dramatic sandstone cliffs that offer some of Malibu's most protected waters, making it ideal for swimming and paddleboarding even when nearby breaks are rough. The narrow strip of sand attracts a mix of locals and visitors seeking a quieter alternative to crowded Surfrider Beach, with tide pools and rocky outcroppings adding to its rugged character. The beach is accessible only by a steep staircase from the Pacific Coast Highway, which naturally limits crowds and preserves its intimate, low-key atmosphere.

Beyond Malibu's iconic beaches, it's always a joy to photograph lovely out-of-state couples who choose California as the backdrop for their "I dos." It's an honor to capture their special moments on the beautiful beaches of my home state.
Beautiful beach. Not to busy and amazing sunset views. I met a man here who was having one of the last nights on the beach with his dog, bc the dog was very sick. Such a beautiful thing of him to take his dog to this beach one last time.
This is a private beach with limited access to public who donβt own a property on this area. Managed to get a glance with a few connections and this place is beautiful! Open and empty, amazing water and views. Wish this nature was shared with everybody !!!!
Beautiful small beach β± just the parking is a problem. A security guy from a private area told me that I can park on the PCH so I did but I got a $58 ticket. So I don't know if is in there another way to find a parking, other than that we my dogs we had a beautiful day.
Love this place. Especially wheb its low tide.
