About Jacksonville Beach
Jacksonville Beach stretches along a wide, sandy shoreline with generally calm, swimmable Atlantic waters and consistent waves popular with beginner and intermediate surfers. The 1.2-mile Jacksonville Beach Pier anchors the scene with restaurants and shops, while the surrounding beachfront offers volleyball courts, a skate park, and a lively boardwalk atmosphere that draws both families and young adults. The beach's appeal lies in its accessible amenities, reliable swimming conditions year-round, and mix of relaxation and water sports without the crowds of more famous Florida destinations.

Jacksonville beach was great. Beachside was nice and clean and I found some great shells. There was places to sit. There was turtle nesting areas marked off. I loved it.
When I first arrived at the beach, a huge cloud was sitting right on the horizon, making it seem like the sunrise might be a no-show. π₯οΈ But then, magic happened! β¨ The sun peeked through the clouds, casting a dreamy glow over the entire shoreline. The powdery white sand felt soft underfoot, and the early morning beach was filled with people practicing yoga and meditationβthe whole atmosphere was incredibly peaceful. π§ββοΈπ Even though North Florida can be a bit chilly in winter, moments like thisβcalm, quiet, and breathtakingly beautifulβmake it all worth it. ππ
My first time here and it's winter. It's too cold to go in the water unless you have a wetsuit on. But it's great for a walk to admire the powdery sand, the white capped waves, the surfers, the sunrise, the sunset, the ocean lovers, the dogs, the pier, the air, the birds, and the ever changing clouds. I loved it! Hope to return in the summer. Parking is difficult to find. You just have to get creative. We were staying at an oceanfront hotel so we just walked down to the beach.
The beach is very clean and wide, there is hundreds of feet of white sand between the dunes and water. The surf is great for boarding of all types. Many amenities within walking distance. Plenty of space with the weekday crowd
Gorgeous place to walk and enjoy the sunrise and waves. You wonβt find a lot of shells here but we did find a few nice ones. Itβs not usually crowded in the morning or during the week. Lots of free parking. Thereβs a pier as well.
