About Jetties Beach
Jetties Beach offers the calmest, most swimmable waters on Nantucket due to its protected harbor location, making it ideal for families and less confident swimmers. The beach features a long sandy shore with excellent facilities, a lifeguard presence, and easy access to water sports like kayaking and paddleboarding, while its proximity to town keeps the vibe relaxed and social rather than remote or exclusive.

Shallow, calm andwarm waters in August with minimal algae. Nice stretch of sand for walk8ng along the beach. Nearby amenities include gift shop with clean restrooms, bars and restaurant, free Wave shuttle bus service to town and parking.
This is a shallow water beach that is friendly for kids. I came here a few times while I was on the island. There is a Bar & Restaurant closeby. The early morning hours are serene. The sand is soft, but there are lots of shells and pebbles as you initially walk into the water.
The beach was very calm and had many shell gathering opportunities. This did bring a bigger crowd than some other beaches on the island.
Good beach, but gets crowded in the summer. Recommend going at least once to expense though, and itβs extremely child friendly and waves are very calm
20 minutes walk from the harbor, shallow water stretching a long way from the beach which results in relatively warm water. Lots of fanilies there, but not difficult to find a spot.
