About Ke Iki Beach

Ke Iki Beach in Haleiwa is a striking crescent of golden sand backed by dramatic sea cliffs and fronted by a reef break that transforms dramatically with the seasons, offering powerful winter swells for experienced surfers and calm, shallow conditions perfect for swimming and snorkeling in summer. The beach's intimate setting, carved between two rocky points and sheltered from the main road, creates a more peaceful alternative to nearby Pipeline while still maintaining that North Shore energy, with consistent crowds of locals and visiting surfers who respect the break's reputation. The clear turquoise water and the visual contrast between the reef's dark volcanic rock and pale sand give the beach an almost otherworldly appeal that feels more secluded than its proximity to Haleiwa's main strip would suggest.

Beautiful beach for swimming and sunbathing. In the evening, this is the perfect place to watch the sunset. There are no official parking spaces. There is a short walk to the beach.

Beautiful and picturesque beach. BUT not kid friendly. No swimming is allowed! (Though some people do I wouldnโ€™t bring kids for swimming!)

Really nice beach to go shelling. Just heed the signs that are up. The waves are very big and strong. Breaks right at the shoreline. If you do go swimming, you would have to be a very strong swimmer. I would not let kids go in or near the water. We went in the afternoon so maybe the currents and the waves were stronger then.

After having explored many local beaches on Oahu, this one is still by far my fav to enjoy to-go food while watching sunset โค๏ธ Easy parking too in the neighborhood. Sometimes you get to see people here practicing fire dance!!

Let me first start off by saying that Oahu Island is very beautiful. The hospitality there from the locals is just amazing. In one incident I was walking through the alley way of some homes after visiting Ke iki Beach, and a homeowner offered me an avocado from his tree. Of course I accepted. But the point is that that was very nice of the person to do that. The scenery here is just remarkable. Beautiful sunsets. And beautiful sunrises. In one occasion I spent hours day knapping . I visited in February of 2021, so there wasn't that many people. But there was enough people at this island is beautiful. I do have to caution those who come here for the first time, I got stuck in a Riptide in one occasion. And I'm not sure if it's common in this particular Shore. It wasn't bad but it was bad enough for me to struggle a bit. I hadn't realized that I was in a Riptide. So I try to fight against it. Of course I am aware that you're not supposed to fight against it but rather let it take you out as far is it goes. It'll eventually bring you back in a circular motion. The most common way to escape is to swim diagonally, in order to escape its grip. Nevertheless the waters are very warm and you can actually snorkel there. But I would recommend the snorkeling at three tables Beach. Or at Shark's Cove. Overall I had a great time, and although I visited during the covid-19 era, the Hawaiian government does a great job in order to keep its citizens safe from the covid-19 also the visitors safe from the covid-19
