About Keฤlia Beach
Keฤlia Beach on Kauai's North Shore is renowned for its powerful winter swells and consistent summer conditions that attract surfers of all levels, making it one of the island's most dynamic wave-riding destinations. The long, sandy stretch offers dramatic views of the verdant cliffs and lush valleys of the Na Pali Coast, while a nearby coastal trail provides easy access to scenic viewpoints without requiring a boat tour. The beach's laid-back vibe draws a mix of experienced surfers, beginners catching waves in designated zones, and beachgoers who come for the natural beauty and the chance to spot Hawaiian green sea turtles in the shallow waters.
Visitor Reviews
Can no longer get to this beach. We tried hiking down the 1871 trail from the national park and ran into a section of road that is now "private" (but unmarked from the north). Meet many very unfriendly locals as we tried to get out. Finally made it to Ho'okena, which I recommend.
