About Kure Beach

Located at the southern tip of the North Carolina barrier islands near Fort Fisher, Kure Beach offers calm, clear waters ideal for swimming and beginner surfers, backed by a historic 1925 fishing pier that extends over 800 feet into the Atlantic. The beach maintains a quieter, more residential character than neighboring Wrightsville Beach, with a mix of family-friendly activities including shelling, fishing, and exploration of nearby Fort Fisher State Historic Site. Strong natural dune systems and maritime forest create a scenic, less commercialized atmosphere that appeals to visitors seeking a more laid-back coastal experience.

Beautiful beach with all sorts of historical places and events that happened here. They need to refurbish the monuments, placards, and markers so they are legible as you will see in pics included. Other than that it's such a beautiful area and I suggest you visit if near as they even have a museum and pier nearby.

Your Content Creator โ™ก approves weddings on Kure beach. K+K had a lovely ceremony here at sunset, the waves were dancing behind them & the wind was blowing beautifully. Creating Content (videography & photography was an absolute breeze on this romantic backdrop.

My first time visiting Kure Beach was truly remarkable. The water was crystal clear, and the sand was fine. There weren't many people around when we visited, which added to the charm. I appreciate that the pier was free to walk on and offered fantastic views of the beach and wildlife.

My entire family takes a beach vacation every other year. We have always stayed in, or very close, to Kure Beach in N.C.. We absolutely love this beach! It's by far our favorite. It is quiet, private, clean, and very reasonably priced. There is plenty to do, such as, fishing, walking/visiting Fort Fischer State Historic Park, the Pier isn't too far away, and there is plenty of restaurants and activities around the area. You won't be disappointed.

It was a warm Saturday morning. We wanted to take the dog for a beach walk. As beaches have strict hours for letting dogs on, we knew we had to make a move. Got there around 8:15(dogs can be on until 9). Plenty of entrances and a good amount of space between land and the water. But it was surprisingly a little packed. Quiet nice beach. A good spot to run or just hang out.
