About Lake Tashmoo Town Beach
Lake Tashmoo Town Beach offers calm, shallow saltwater perfect for swimming and paddleboarding, with warmer conditions than ocean beaches due to the enclosed lagoon setting. The sandy beach is backed by natural dunes and provides views across the water toward the Elizabeth Islands, creating a quieter, more protected atmosphere than the island's south-facing shores. It's a popular spot for families and sunset visitors, drawing locals who appreciate its convenient location and laid-back character away from the more crowded Vineyard destinations.

Gotta drive thru some fun back road to get here but very pretty
Great place for a quiet sunset. (The trail out there is a bit far, especially by bike).
Small very small beach, water is super clear, lots of rocks so wear water shoes!!! Great views, long drive to the beach. Make sure you are in a truck or vehicle high enough to endure the potholes, divots..because it's rough in a jeep! Lol
I never go there for the beach. The fishing on the jetty when the tide is going out can be amazing. Just throw out a chunk of weighted bait and let the tide drag it out to hungry fish! Most times you'll catch your limit before your ready to call it a day. Mmmm, I guess that is what the beach is for ;0)
Nice secluded beach where the ocean and Lake Tashmoo connect. Mostly sandy with small rocks and shells mixed in. Watch boats coming and going in and out of Lake Tashmoo. You can find a spot either on the ocean side or lake side for different experiences. The lake side is great for kids since it's very shallow. The ocean side had a fair amount of seaweed and the waters were calm with little to no waves. The road to this beach, Herring Creek Road, is a one lane bumpy dirt road that is a little over a mile long. Best to take an SUV, go slow, and be prepared to squeeze past cars going the other way. You may have to back up at times. There is a small sand parking lot that is free. There was a lifeguard on duty when we were there. There was also a porta-potty.
