About Litchfield Beach
Litchfield Beach offers calm, shallow waters ideal for families and swimmers, backed by a quiet residential community that maintains a low-key, peaceful atmosphere distinct from busier South Carolina coastal towns. The beach features wide stretches of sand with natural dunes and maritime forest, creating a scenic backdrop for walking and photography while keeping development minimal. Popular activities include shelling, kayaking in nearby salt marshes, and fishing, making it particularly appealing to visitors seeking a laid-back escape over a party-focused beach experience.

One of my favorite beaches to go to. It's clean, and the people are friendly. Love it here!
I agree with the other one star. I parked across the street from the hotel, and I couldnβt find the damn Atlantic ocean! All the rich people have to build their houses so close together you can walk down the street and not even see the water! And you have to kind of cut through the side of the hotel to get to the beach. No thanks.
This place doesnβt exist for the public. I went yesterday and thereβs a guard shack and the dude said it hasnβt been public for over 30yrs. Can someone who has left reviews or pics or visited recently care to explain how you managed to get there??
Family vacations for 25+ years, have proved Litchfield to be a wonderful place for rest & relaxation! Far enough way from crowds, but close to attractions like Brookgreen Gardens, and shopping to be convenient.
Best public beach in the area. It's kept clean and is classier than some of the beaches on Myrtle's main stretch.
