About Mirada Surf Beach
Mirada Surf Beach is a rugged, north-facing break in Half Moon Bay known for its powerful winter swells and consistent reef and sand bottom waves that attract experienced surfers year-round. The beach sits backed by dramatic coastal bluffs and offers a more local, less crowded alternative to nearby Mavericks, with a raw, windswept atmosphere that appeals to serious watermen seeking challenging conditions rather than leisurely swimmers. Strong currents and cold water temperatures make it best suited for advanced surfers with proper wetsuits and wave knowledge.

A little hard to access but nice beach. Dog friendly. Beautiful!
Great shallow beach, fantastic for younger kids and body-boarding/learning to surf. Need to climb up & huge rocks though to reach the beach in some areas, but that's probably what keeps it not too crowded! There are some easy steps on the northern access spot though. Clean sand, no jelly fish, free parking albeit scarce.
It was a refuge from COVID most people are just enjoying the beach social distancing was going on but there were no masks and it was refreshing. easy to get to the steps down to the beach for a bit of a challenge for my mom who just had a hip replaced. But with help she was able to get down and back up the steps.
Since it's one of the few dog friendly beaches around Half Moon Bay we enjoyed it as well as our dog since leashes are not mandatory. Our dog made a few friends and had a ball playing.
Amazing beach, clean and friendly. A lot of dogs to play ball, itβs amazing.
