About Nelscott Beach
Nelscott Beach in Lincoln City is a rugged, cliff-backed stretch of sand known for consistent Pacific swells that make it a popular spot for surfers and bodyboarders throughout the year. The beach's dramatic rocky outcroppings and tide pools offer exploration opportunities for visitors seeking geology and marine life, while the backing dunes and accessible parking create a welcoming atmosphere for families and casual beachgoers. The relatively uncrowded feel compared to other Oregon coast destinations gives it a local, laid-back character that appeals to those wanting quieter Pacific Northwest beach experiences.

I went here with my family today on a whim after driving by for years. We walked a mile to the south and had a great time exploring the beach, basalt fingers, and driftwood. I canβt wait to go there during low tide.
This stretch of beach south to the Stiletz River makes for great walking with hard packed sand when the tide is out. Itβs rarely crowded and there are many days when you will be the only one on the entire beach. And itβs a real paradise for dogs.
There are ten parking spots and two picnic tables on top of the sea wall with a close view of the beach. A wheelchair accessible ramp leads down to the beach. There are no public toilets I could find anywhere nearby.
Beautiful, soft sand beach. When we went, there were two mobility mats rolled out from the concrete ramp that led onto the beach. They made it possible for my family with mobility issues to be able to walk out to the water's edge. Not a lot of public parking but just enough.
Beautiful breach! Wide open space. Saw some seals in the surf, found a few shells.
