Neptune Beach

I think I once read that dogs are allowed after Labor Day, but the sign said no pets until the end of September. Still, many people were enjoying the beach with their dogs. We only stayed for a short while, because it was so windy. The long stretch of sand was beautiful, and despite the weekend crowd, the beach felt peaceful. There are plenty of free parking spots nearby, and several access paths through the neighborhood lead directly to the beach.

We brought the kiddos out for a quick weekend getaway, and Neptune Beach was the perfect choice. The beach was clean, peaceful, and best of all—not overcrowded. There was plenty of space to relax, play, and enjoy the sound of the waves without feeling packed in. It felt like a hidden gem, and we all had a great time. Definitely a spot we’d return to for a chill beach day.

Local shops, cafes, and restaurants are conveniently close to the beach, adding to its charm. Parking is relatively straightforward, though spaces can fill quickly during peak times. Located just north of Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach provides a quieter alternative with the same natural beauty and coastal appeal. It’s perfect for anyone seeking a serene getaway with easy access to modern amenities.

As someone originally from the pandhandle of Florida I was surprised at how beautiful this beach is. Also a lot less crowded than Pensacola Beach and only slightly more crowded than Gulf Shores. That being said it was a challenge to find parking but totally worth it once I did. Street parking is free though challenging to find on weekends
