About Palauea Beach
Palauea Beach is a sheltered cove with consistently calm, crystal-clear waters ideal for snorkeling and swimming, thanks to its rocky point protection and sandy bottom populated with reef fish and occasional sea turtles. The beach's relatively quiet, local-focused atmosphere contrasts sharply with the busier Wailea resort beaches nearby, offering a more authentic experience with minimal commercial development and a natural, rocky shoreline backed by native vegetation. Its proximity to Makena State Park and reliable good conditions year-round make it a reliable choice for both water activities and those seeking a less crowded slice of South Maui.

Super gorgeous beach! Definitely one of my favorite beaches Iโve been to in this area. Beautiful memories with my friends were made here
Beautiful public beach. Incredible sunset views, super chill. There lots of turtles as well. You have some parking in the entrance of the beach
Absolutely beautiful beach. We went in October and this beach did NOT disappoint! We got to snorkel with the turtles ๐ข that were here!!! ๐ towards the right side if you bring snorkel gear. They love the rocks ๐ชจ over on this pictured side! Absolutely amazing.
Beautiful beach, came here during the sunset. Beach was clean and stunning
One of my favorite beaches, hidden away, seldom that crowded. Not much for utilities, just one port-a-potty, now showers. Street parking, no lot.
