About Pillar Point Harbor Beach
Pillar Point Harbor Beach offers a protected sandy cove nestled within the dramatic rocky coastline of Half Moon Bay, making it an ideal spot for swimmers and families seeking calmer waters than the region's more exposed beaches. The harbor's working fishing village atmosphere, combined with excellent tide pools, coastal views, and accessibility to nearby trails, draws visitors who appreciate both relaxation and exploration of the Central California coast. With consistent conditions and a scenic backdrop of rugged cliffs and offshore rock formations, this beach delivers the quintessential experience of the San Mateo County shoreline.

We came to this Pillar Point Harbor Beach quite often. Usually to enjoy some of the most Delicious Seafood here right on the water! There are many great restaurants here that we have eaten at that includes: Miramar Beach Restaurant, Samβs Chowder House, Barbaraβs FishTrap, Half Moon Bay Brewing Company, Oceano Bar and Grill, The Barn, Moss Beach Distillery, and many more!!! I truly loves the Stunning, breathtaking, and Peaceful Views!!!! Definitely enjoyed water every time Iβm here. Walking along the shore, watching the Surfers, checking out RVs spot, buying fresh Catches, Dinning, Birds watching, are among some of my favorite things to do here at this Pillar Point Harbor Beach!!! I am always super stoked, Excited, and Mesmerized by the Ocean!!!πβ€οΈ
Lovely walk at the harbour and along the coast. Quite a number of nice seafood cafes and restaurants to try out. Fresh seafood for sale too.
A popular place for fishing, it seems no permit required. Peole fish from the rock pier. One just need to find a comfortable place for seating and dropping the line. The pier is extending very far into the ocean. One can walk on rocks, but be very careful, and wear sturdy shoes, no flip-flops as it is not safe to walk on rocks. There are portable restrooms. No water fountain.
Breathtakingly beautiful sunset. Threw the football around to warm up, little guy built sand castles and drove his remote control monster truck around. Bring blankets and sweaters. It gets windy and chilly as the sun sets and the tide rises very quickly.
Cute little beach but it looks like itβs closed as they are out there in big machines on the sand. Nobody out on beach, Iβm assuming because of this? Bummer
