About Ponquogue Beach
Ponquogue Beach, nestled along Dune Road in Hampton Bays, offers calm, protected bay waters ideal for swimming and paddleboarding, with a quieter, more residential feel than the ocean beaches further east. The narrow strip of sand backed by dunes and oceanfront homes provides scenic views of Shinnecock Bay, and the shallow waters warm quickly in summer, making it popular with families and those seeking a less crowded alternative to the Atlantic-facing beaches. Access is somewhat limited and primarily residential, which preserves its peaceful, low-key atmosphere despite its proximity to more developed areas.

Every time I travel home to the Hamptons, I like to ride over the ponquybridge to check out the ocean and then ride down to the jetty/I let. There's usually always a nice breeze and I will stop at the local bakery and grab me a roll and just check out the water and the boats. This was my first stop on my last trip home.
This is a nice beach with a decent-sized parking lot, clean bathhouse and a place to buy food and beach accessories (chairs, boogie boards, etc.) The lifeguards were very attentive and made sure that everyone was safe. The surf was very rough on the day I visited, yet swimming was still allowed, which I appreciated. Parking was $40/day for a non-resident.
Clean white sand. Plenty parking area. $30/day parking. Clean bathrooms and changing rooms. Ladies room had about 4 changing rooms. 4 total Showers outside. Bathroom closes at 5pm. Lifeguards on site but they leave at 5pm. Long shoreline, beautiful. The day I went was sunny but windy so ocean was wavy. Watch the wind forecast. I recommend all beaches along that coastline. Minimum seaweeds on the shore. Clean shore.
Simply beautiful. Clean white sand and nice waves. We went the weekend after Labor day and the water was perfect temperature for swimming. Family friendly and we even saw people walking dogs. Lifeguard not on duty the days we went. Changing rooms and bathrooms were clean and nice. There's a booth to pay for parking, but it was closed both weekend days we went, so free! I guess it stops at Labor Day.
Love this beach so much all year round, except when the biting flies are out and about lol Must have a resident sticker till 9pm during beach season or pay $25 bucks for the day to park. If you don't, you'll be ticketed over and over again by the bay constable until you move your car, unlike other places in the city where you can remain parked once you get a ticket. So be warned! One really annoying thing is that people bring their dogs during off hours and some will bury their dogs waste in the sand instead of picking it up... If you're gonna own a dog... Own all of it, people!!! Still this beach has some awesome sand and great views of the ocean, amazing sunsets and equally beautiful full moon and stars view at night too! Multiple parking areas but one central area with spaces for bikes and electric cars and life guards and a hot and cold food shack with shower and bathroom facilities that was all rebuilt last year and looks beautiful..
