About Roosevelt Beach
Roosevelt Beach is a dramatic crescent of dark sand backed by towering sandstone cliffs, offering some of the most sheltered water conditions on the Half Moon Bay coast and making it ideal for swimming and paddling when other beaches are rough. The beach draws a quieter, more local crowd compared to nearby Poplar Beach, with tide pools at the southern end and excellent sunset views framed by the bluffs. Its proximity to Pillar Point and the surrounding protected coves creates a cozier, less windswept atmosphere than the more exposed stretches of coastline.

Gate opens at 8am, $10 for parking. This is one of the many beaches accessible from Hwy 1. For padestians, runners, and bikers, the coastal trail provides 5 miles trail one way from Half Moon Bay and El Granada. There's campgrounds and clean restrooms.
Gorgeous long beach, great for beach walks and exploring the chaparral at the edge of the sand. Caught a look at a long tailed weasel hiding in the bushes - adorable guy but too quick to get a photo. Beautiful wildflowers along the path.
Awesome beach. Very clean. Probably because of the week day visit, it was empty. Had 2 surfers. Spotted dolphins swimming right next to the surfers.
Beautiful beach! We saw at least 8 dolphins from the beach. There were surfers and some families walking along the coast line. Plus, there was plenty of parking. I will be back.
Great beach. big waves. relaxing day. time well spent . bring a tent ,umbrella, or ease up or you will be sorry , plenty of Sun after the fog burns off.
