About Saint Andrew Beach
Saint Andrew Beach is a serene, uncrowded stretch of sand on Jekyll Island's quiet south end, known for its calm, shallow waters that make it ideal for wading and families with young children. The beach offers a peaceful alternative to the island's busier northern shores, with natural dunes and maritime forest backdrop that create a more secluded atmosphere perfect for swimming, shelling, and photography. Its gentle slope and protected waters reflect the beach's appeal to visitors seeking a low-key coastal experience rather than a high-energy scene.

Ample parking and easy access to the beach plenty of trash cans and bathroom facilities. Highly recommend catching a sunset here.
Visited Jekyll Island with family for a birthday trip and had a delightful time. The beaches were wide, clean and empty. We spotted lots of crabs, birds, and jellyfish. A beautiful, relaxing destination!
From the back of the soccer fields is where you access this beach. NOTE: THIS IS NOT THE SAME AS "ST. ANDREW'S BEACH" (where some of the dead trees on the southwest end of the island are. ). ...there is no driftwood on this beach... Also, some of the other photos on Google maps makes this look like "Driftwood Beach" which it also is not, as that beach is on the Northeast side of the island This beach is quiet and was not crowded today. There are some washed up Cannonball Jellyfish here so watch your step.
We visited on the weekend, and while Jekyll Island was crowded, this beach was not. There were only about 10-15 cars, and the beach was peaceful. We relaxed and got some tanning done. There weren't as many bugs as expected, so we didn't use any bug repellent. The water was dirty but not too cold, and the sand was very fine with a beautiful white shoreline. Pets are not allowed. I will definitely be there again!
Visiting St. Andrews Beach on Jekyll Island was a delightful experience for our family. Nestled away from the more crowded areas of the island, this beach offered a tranquil setting that allowed us to fully embrace the natural beauty of Georgia's coastline. Upon arriving, we were greeted by the captivating view of the ocean, the gentle sound of waves, and a pleasant sea breeze. The beach itself was clean and offered plenty of space to relax and play. Our children particularly enjoyed exploring the tidal pools, where they discovered various sea creatures. A highlight of our visit was the nearby picnic area, shaded by live oaks, providing the perfect spot for a family lunch. Afterward, a walk along the beach led us to the viewing platform where we spotted dolphins playing in the distance. What sets St. Andrews Beach apart is its unspoiled charm. The blend of sandy shores, wildlife viewing opportunities, and calm waters creates an environment that feels both intimate and adventurous. Whether you're looking to spend a leisurely day building sandcastles with the little ones or explore the natural wonders of the island, St. Andrews Beach offers something for everyone. It's a hidden gem on Jekyll Island that we can't wait to return to, and we wholeheartedly recommend it for families seeking a peaceful beach experience.
