About Sandy Beach
Sandy Beach is renowned for its powerful shore break and consistent waves that make it Hawaii's premier bodyboarding destination, attracting experienced wave riders who thrive in the fast, steep conditions. The beach's wide, golden sand and dramatic backdrop of the Ko'olau Mountains create a scenic setting that fills with a youthful, energetic crowd of locals and visitors seeking thrills rather than tranquility. Strong currents and dangerous shorebreak conditions require respect and swimming ability, making this an exhilarating spot for confident water enthusiasts rather than casual swimmers.

Sandy Beach was intense in the best way. Big, clear turquoise waves and strong currents made swimming feel like a full body workout but it was ridiculously fun. The water was unreal and every wave came in fast and heavy. If youβre not a great swimmer, donβt go out too far. This spot doesnβt play.
This place was absolutely gorgeous! If you're traveling to Oahu and looking for a beautiful beach to go to then definitely go here!
In my opinion, the best beach on the southeastern coast. Wide, with beautiful fine sand, large parking area, showers, and lifeguards. Above all, an amazing bodyboard surfing spot β the waves are huge and break perfectly.
Absolutely amazing beach. One of the best on O'ahu. Great for sunbathing, watching fantastic waves. The waves are big and the current strong so not ideal for newbies.
This beach stretches quite a bit and gives beach goers a lot of prime spaces for sunbathing. Just keeping driving towards the north end of the beach to find parking. Beach was clean and there was a bathroom where one can change. Some shaded areas were available and the view was wonderful. The waves were a bit strong and not a good place for the young ones.
