About Sconset Beach
Sconset Beach offers some of Nantucket's calmest waters, making it ideal for swimming and paddleboarding, while the village behind it features a charming cluster of rose-covered cottages and a quiet, village-like atmosphere that contrasts with busier Nantucket beaches. The beach itself is backed by low bluffs and has a more intimate, residential feel, attracting families and those seeking a peaceful escape rather than a party scene. At the eastern end of the island, it's known for excellent striped bass fishing and provides sunset views toward the Atlantic.

Favorite beach in Nantucket! We spent a few hours here and we love the Sconset beach. It is a bit out of the way, but that might be why there are less people here and this actually makes it nicer for the others. The beach is very long and the sand is fantastic! There are a few houses around but not many. This was a great afternoon and well worth it!
Nothing beats a visit to Sconset Beach. Personally this place is full of wonderful memories, so I’m biased. However, if you are on the island I would highly recommend coming out for a walk on the beach. Then spend some time in town. If you have children there is a playground close to the beach as well. It’s another great place for the little ones to enjoy themselves. Check out the photos and videos I uploaded to this review. It will give you a sense of the landscape. I uploaded winter pictures and videos but each season has something beautiful to explore and see.

Beautiful beach where in late summer you can watch the seals swim about. We cannot wait to go back!
really beautiful. lifeguard on duty. near center of Sconset town center where you can buy food, ice cream and drinks. Clean public restrooms in town center (or porta potties at the beach for the more adventurous) and a great boat-themed playground across the street. super convenient and easy to get to with the wave shuttle. Not crowded.
