About Sharktooth Beach on Jekyll Island
Sharktooth Beach earns its name from the abundance of fossilized shark teeth that wash ashore along this narrow, shell-covered stretch on Jekyll Island's north end, making it a popular spot for beachcombers and collectors. The calm, shallow waters and protected setting near the Jekyll River create ideal conditions for wading and exploring tidal pools, while the peaceful, low-key atmosphere attracts families and nature enthusiasts seeking a quieter alternative to the island's busier public beaches.

Definitely a nice long walk to the water but completely secluded. We sped walk and made it there in 16 minutes with a 9 year old. The beach is super pretty and has a ton of rows of crushed up oyster shells. Plenty of good spots to shark tooth hunt. We came for the sunset and it was phenomenal.
The water isn't clean and the beach is small. But it's a pleasant walk there and it's pretty quiet. I did find one tiny shark tooth, which made my day. ๐
A long walk from parking area. Come dressed appropriately. Don't think your going to walk barefoot on a romantic stroll. I didn't find any shark teeth. Definitely an experience.
This is a small beach and it's beautiful, but it's not really "kid friendly" . 1. It's over a mile walk to get there. 2. It's and oyster shell beach , which is dangerous to walk on without shoes. You can find sharks teeth here , best time is after a storm . IT IS QUITE AND BEAUTIFUL HERE. BRING WATER !!
About a mile walk to get here but it was worth it. Just be sure to get there before sundown. The path is just past the summer waves park driveway. Google maps was wrong. I didnโt find any shark teeth but the millions of shells was amazing to see!
