This South beach in Bald Head Island is the perfect place to spend a relaxing vacation. There’s something for everyone on this quiet island, whether you want to swim in the ocean, do some boating or just sit back and relax.
Great beach to sit down and relax on, waves can be pretty decent at times, though East Beach has the superior waves. Also great location for sunset walks. The water tends to be very shallow for a long time, so if you don't like deep water then this beach is great.
Beautiful, wide, sand beach. Clean, never crowded. Facing south means the waves are generally mild. A great place for kids of all ages. However; this is a quiet beach. There are no services of any sort. If you are looking for rentals, snack shops, or restrooms on the beach you should avoid Bald Head altogether. In short, this is a beach for those who write sappy personal ads about long walks on the beach. I've enjoyed it every time I've been.
Parking was not too bad. The beach was awesome and the perfect day to go.
