About Surfside beach
Surfside Beach is a quiet, family-friendly strand known for its calm, gentle waters and wide sandy shoreline that remains uncrowded compared to nearby Myrtle Beach. The pier, stretching 800 feet into the Atlantic, is a popular spot for fishing and sunset viewing, while the shallow, warm waters make it ideal for swimming and wading during summer months. The laid-back small-town atmosphere and lack of high-rise development give it a more peaceful, residential feel than its busier neighbors, attracting visitors seeking a slower-paced beach experience.

Enjoy going to this beach in South Carolina. The beaches are clean and not crowded. Lots of good places to eat and relax. Has to be one of my favs. Recommended.
Our visit to Surfside Beach in South Carolina was nothing short of beautiful and serene. The atmosphere was incredibly peacefulβexactly what we needed for a relaxing day by the water. Even though the weather started off a bit shaky with a storm passing through, it didnβt last long. Once the skies cleared and the sun came out, the beach transformed into a warm, inviting paradise. The water was impressively clearβperfect for wading, swimming, or just soaking in the view. We noticed quite a few sand crabs scurrying along the shore, but they kept to themselves and didnβt bother us at all. In fact, it added a little charm and character to the beach experience. Overall, it was such a refreshing and calming getaway. Weβre already looking forward to returning later this yearβitβs definitely one of our new favorite coastal spots!
We traveled to Surfside Beach, Garden City Beach and to Murrells Inlet and was a blast. Absolutely beautiful.
It was the first beach my 12 yr old ever saw. He didnt care what time it was when we got there - he just wanted to see the water and feel the sand between his toes... just like Mom. There was lighting in the distance and it made for some FABULOUS shots. It was great scenery.
