About The NARROWS
The Narrows is a sheltered inlet where the Virginia coastline pinches into a dramatic funnel, creating exceptionally calm, glassy water ideal for kayaking and paddleboarding even when nearby open waters are choppy. The sandy shores are framed by maritime forest and salt marsh, offering a serene, less-crowded alternative to Virginia Beach's main tourist beaches with excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. The shallow, protected waters and gentle topography make it particularly popular with families and beginners seeking low-stress water recreation.

We really like this little local sandy beach area located in the back of First Landing State Park (originally Seashore State Park). We enter at 64th Street off Pacific. You will need to pay a park pass fee. There is a bathroom at the boat ramp (which accesses the Linkhorn and Broad Bays). We are able to pull our pontoon up to the beach, float around, or sit in our chairs. Waves only when boats go by. It can get a little crowded in the afternoon.
Great place. One of my favorite in VA beach. Very quiet beach, calm water, lots of hiking trails. Beautiful and tranquil. It is definitely worth paying the entrance fee to the park.
I love taking my daughters here. I also do a lot of fishing here. Great calm place to relax.
Great little hidden beach spot! Boat ramp is near by and you can pull it right up to the beach! Water is flat so great for watching little ones without worrying about the waves! It gets really busy so getting there early is recommended.
Excellent little beach for sail boarding and just general relaxation. A bit like Sandy Point Beach in Maryland on the Chesapeake, but nicer.
