About Ukumehame Beach Park
Ukumehame Beach Park on Maui's leeward coast offers consistent, reliable waves that attract both surfers and bodyboarders, especially during winter swells when the break becomes particularly powerful. The park's rocky shoreline and dramatic West Maui backdrop create a rugged, less-crowded alternative to nearby resort beaches, drawing a more local and serious water sports crowd. Facilities including picnic areas and parking make it accessible for day trips, though swimmers should note the strong currents and rocky entry typical of this exposed coastal area.

Gorgeous spot with beautiful trees and shaded areas. Plenty of parking. Found a cute little duck (like they trade on cruise ships) for my 6 year old! The tide here is rougher than other beaches, so i wouldn't suggest for swimming or younger kids. Beautiful place to relax and watch the waves, though!
While this location is primarily frequented by beginner surfers, there's always a spot where you and your family can enjoy the entire day. The bottom is relatively shallow yet rocky, so be sure to bring appropriate footwear. Youโll find small waves near the shore and a breathtaking sunset to admire.
Beautiful sunsets and early mornings. Noisy highway but the view is worth it. Great beach for surfing but tons of rocks on the beach. Get water shoes and you can swim all you want.
Best beach for swimming in all of Maui! You can choose to sit in the shade from the frees or in the sun. Lovely clear blue water and views of other islands
Great place just to pull off and appreciate the views. We pulled over to watch the sunset and havent seen better views on the island. Very windy spot this time of year so sometimes we would get pelted with sand but amazing view
