About Wrightsville Beach, NC

Wrightsville Beach offers consistently calm, clear waters year-round thanks to its positioning on a barrier island with protected sounds on the western side, making it ideal for swimming, paddleboarding, and beginner surfers alongside experienced wave-riders who frequent the eastern break. The 7-mile stretch combines family-friendly sandy shores with a laid-back coastal town atmosphere, anchored by the historic Wrightsville Beach Pier and a vibrant local food and surf culture scene that draws both tourists and regional residents. The beach's proximity to Wilmington (just 20 minutes away) combined with its reputation for water sports and reliable conditions has made it a preferred destination for East Coast surfers and paddleboarders seeking quality waves without the crowds of more famous breaks.

Wrightsville Beach is, without a doubt, the most beautiful beach in North Carolina. The water is unbelievably clear, with gorgeous shades of blue and turquoise that you don’t expect to find on the East Coast. The sand is soft, bright white, and incredibly clean, making it feel more like a tropical destination than a local beach. What makes Wrightsville so special is the peaceful, private feel. It isn’t overcrowded or overly commercial—just a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere filled mostly with locals who truly appreciate how special this place is. The whole area feels safe, welcoming, and perfectly maintained. Whether you’re taking a quiet morning walk along the shoreline, watching the sunrise, swimming in the calm clear water, or just sitting back and taking in the view, it’s impossible not to fall in love with this beach. Every visit feels refreshing and restorative. Wrightsville Beach is simply perfect—beautiful, clean, serene, and absolutely breathtaking. If you’re looking for the best beach experience North Carolina has to offer, this is it. Highly, highly recommend!

This was our first time visiting this beach, and we came in through Public Access 15. Having public parking available was a big plus—even though it’s hourly, it made things so much more convenient. From the moment we walked in, the stunning ocean views were right in front of us, making it the perfect spot to relax and soak in the beauty of the Atlantic. We set up under the pier, which gave us just the right amount of shade and a refreshing ocean breeze. 🌊 It was such a peaceful and enjoyable way to spend the day outdoors. Whether you’re with family, friends, or just looking for a little solo time by the water, this beach is a wonderful place to unwind and connect with nature. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area—cheers to ocean days! 🥂

Immaculate, safe, clean, and full of shells and rocks to hound. Whether you're out for a stroll, headed to surf, fish, family beach outing, swim, read a book, shoot video or photography, WB, NC is the destination. There's plenty of shops inland as well. Everything is footsteps away. Whether enjoying the energies at sunrise or catching the moon at night, the vibes are Immaculate.

Wrightsville Beach is truly an amazing place to visit, offering beautiful ocean views, soft sandy shores, and a relaxing atmosphere. It’s one of the cleanest and most scenic beaches in North Carolina, perfect for a family outing, a walk along the shore, or just soaking in the natural beauty. The water is clear, and the overall vibe is peaceful yet lively with plenty of nearby restaurants and shops to enjoy after the beach. However, one major issue is the parking situation. If you arrive a little late in the day, especially during weekends or peak season, finding a parking spot can be very challenging as the lots fill up quickly. This can take away from the otherwise perfect experience. My suggestion would be to plan ahead and reach early to avoid the hassle. Despite the parking issue, Wrightsville Beach is still a must-visit destination worth your time.

Nice beach, blue and pretty warm water. If you ok to pay 5-6$/hr for parking or even 3$/hr for 1hr limit parking that’s a good place to chill 2-3 hours.
